Absecon Lighthouse

Check another thing off of my list! I went to the Absecon Lighthouse. It was an interesting ride there. Once I got there, there was a woman who greeted me I paid the $7.00 to climb the lighthouse. It was rather warm and I became very warm the more I climbed inside the lighthouse. After I was out of breath from climbing the lighthouse [yes, I am out of shape!], I went outside on the ledge and the view was beautiful! The view of the Atlantic Ocean was spectacular! The Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest in Jersey and the third tallest in the country!

Another item off the list: Visited NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial

I visited the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial the other day. It was very interesting and moving. There were a number of letters from servicemen to their wives or girlfriends or just people who they were writing to at the time.

There were several additional things that I learned about the Vietnam Conflict from the Memorial.

I spent a good couple of hours in the Memorial. The gentleman at the desk said to me, "You've been here a while!"

One really needs to applaud the men and women who have served the USA. They have made selfless sacrifices for the USA, so that the USA can be free. They all have my utmost respect.

Below are some pictures that I took at the Memorial:
